چکیده

In a two-dimensional Bose-Einstein condensate the reduction in dimensionality fundamentally influences collisions between the atoms. In the crossover regime from three to two dimensions several scattering parameters have been considered. However, finite temperature results are more difficult to obtain. In this work we present the many-body T-matrix at finite temperatures within a gapless Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov approach and compare to zero and finite temperature results obtained using different approaches. A semi-classical renormalization method is used to remove the ultra-violet divergence of the anomalous average. PACS numbers: 03.65.Nk, 03.75.Hh, 03.75.Nt, 05.30.Jp Submitted to: J. Phys. B: At. Mol. The Two-Dimensional Bose-Einstein Condensate

We study the Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov mean-field theory as applied to a two-dimensional finite trapped Bose gas at low temperatures and find that, in the Hartree-Fock approximation, the system can be described either with or without the presence of a condensate; this is true in the thermodynamic limit as well. We are unable to find condensate solutions when we consider a scheme that predicts the...

Quantized circulation in dilute Bose–Einstein condensates

We compute using a microscopic mean-field theory the structure and the quasiparticle excitation spectrum of a dilute, trapped Bose–Einstein condensate penetrated by an axisymmetric vortex line. The Gross–Pitaevskii equation for the condensate and the coupled Hartree–Fock–Bogoliubov–Popov equations describing the elementary excitations are solved self-consistently using finite-difference methods...

Cranked Hartree - Fock - Bogoliubov Calculation for Rotating Bose - Einstein Condensates

Naoki Onishi Department of Information System, Tokyo International University 1-13-1 Matoba-kita, Kawagoe, Saitama, 350-1197, Japan (Dated: February 1, 2008) Abstract A rotating bosonic many-body system in a harmonic trap is studied with the 3D-Cranked Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov method at zero temperature, which has been applied to nuclear manybody systems at high spin. This method is a variationa...

Fock - Bogoliubov kinetic equations for a trapped Bose gas

Using the Kadanoff-Baym non-equilibrium Green’s function formalism, we derive the self-consistent Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov (HFB) collisionless kinetic equations and the associated equation of motion for the condensate wavefunction for a trapped Bose-condensed gas. Our work generalizes earlier work by Kane and Kadanoff (KK) for a uniform Bose gas. We include the off-diagonal (anomalous) pair corr...

Dipolar Bose-Einstein condensates at finite temperature

We study a Bose-Einstein condensate of a dilute gas with dipolar interactions, at finite temperature, using the Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov theory within the Popov approximation. An additional approximation involving the dipolar exchange interaction is made to facilitate the computation. We calculate the temperature dependence of the condensate fraction of a condensate confined in a cylindrically s...
